A new life - Dawn, Ryan and Lily

Today, baby Lily worked for the first time. That's right! She was the shining star of her very own photo shoot, with guest appearances by Mom and Dad too of course. Here are a few samples of her hard work:

The Smith Family - A Portrait

This afternoon I met with the Smith family. It's been just about a year since I last saw them, to photograph baby girl Smith in her first few weeks of life. This time at our meeting, we had the chance to capture some fantastic shots of the entire family and of course, some of the kiddies too. Here are a few samples from the session:

Aeden and Mary - A holiday portrait!

Aeden and Mary got together today for some holiday portraits. While they had a limited interest in the camera, we still managed to snap some adorable Christmas-card ready pictures. Here are a few samples:

Ready for the holidays - a family portrait!

This weekend, I met with the Mack family. This was my third time having the pleasure of photographing them and as always my third time being blown away by how fantastic they are. Together we had some fun on a rather bleak, foggy day and managed to capture some beautiful photos of the family. Here are a few samples from their session:

A family affair - Derek, Wendy, Cameron and Ayla

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the Bolf family. Readying for the holidays, we spent an energized hour together snapping portraits and fun pictures of the kids at my home studio. Before heading out, we also made a quick trip to the park across the street for some candids. Hopefully, these will be holiday card ready. Here are a few sneak peaks:

An engagement with Ian and Sherry

Fall with the entire family!

Well, I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday in the Fall than taking pictures amongst the leaves!

Melissa, Alain and their two dogs trekked out to the arboretum one sunny fall day for family portraits. The weather was chilly, but fresh. It kept us moving, that's for sure! Here they are enjoying the fresh air, beautiful colours and a great weekend day.

Their two dogs, Penny and Kelly had a great time too. They, of course, love to be the centre of attention. They were great sports and really seemed to get the hang of having their picture taken. I think they've got a lot of practice at home :-)

Penny is the chocolate brown lab on the left. Kelly is the black lab on the right. Beautiful dogs.

Hello and welcome to my blog! It's been a busy few months for me - getting into the groove of being a Mommy and setting the stage for next year's business ventures. As things develop, this will become the home to sneak peaks from photo shoots and updates to my business.

I've been kept busy since June 26 with my new baby, Mary. She's been a great addition to our family and given me plenty of photo ops! Thank goodness she loves the camera. At the rate things are going, she may very well be the most photographed baby ever. Here she is, posing for the camera.

Now that I have a child of my own, I know too well how precious pictures really are. As I continue to photograph children, I find myself even more driven to get *the picture* and capture each child as they are, with their spirit shining through. It's my hope that families will continue to call on me to do this, and of course will cherish the pictures they receive. Afterall, I know now more than ever how fast children grow and how little time we have to enjoy each stage of their lives. Case in point, Mary quickly went from being a tiny baby to sitting up on her own and playing by herself. At only 4.5 months, she's changed so much.
